A Brief
Introduction to National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest
on Energy Saving & Emission Reduction
全国大学生节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛是由教育部高等教育司主办、唯一由高等教育司办公室主抓的全国大学生学科竞赛。该竞赛充分体现了“节能减排、绿色能源”的主题，紧密围绕国家能源与环境政策，紧密结合国家重大需求，在教育部的直接领导和广大高校的积极协作下，起点高、规模大、精品多，覆盖面广，是一项具有导向性、示范性和群众性的全国大学生竞赛，得到了各省教育厅、各高校的高度重视。本活动每年举办一次。全国大学生节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛主要是激发当代大学生的青春活力，创新实践能力，承办单位一般为上届表现突出院校。目前全国几乎所有211大学都积极参与其中。
The National
University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving &
Emission Reduction is sponsored by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry
of Education of the People’s Republic of China and it is the only National
University Student Subject Contest managed by the Office for Higher Education. It
fully reflects the theme of “energy
saving & emission reduction and green energy” and it is closely interrelated
to the major needs of the country. Under the direct cooperation of the Ministry
of Education and the active cooperation of the universities, it is a national
university student contest with the high starting point, the large scale, many competitive
products, the wide coverage, the guidance function, the demonstration and the mass
feature and has been highly valued by the provincial education departments and
universities. It is held once a year and is mainly to stimulate the youthful
vitality and innovative practice ability of contemporary university students.
The organizer is generally a university with the outstanding performance in the
previous session. Almost all universities in the “211 Project” in China
actively participate in.
第一届全国大学生节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛于2008年在浙江大学成功举办，共有88所高校的505件作品参加了此次竞赛，参赛作品类型多、专业性强、涵盖面广，涉及了能源、机械、资源、建筑、电气、海洋、社会、经济、矿业等多个领域。 最终入围决赛的100件优秀作品来自55所高校，不仅有涉及关系到国民经济重大发展的能源生产问题，如海上风力发电平台，太阳能梯级开发热利用系统及生物质能利用系统等作品；也有贴近日常生活节水节电的小发明、小制作，如厨房节能小助手，新型节能开关电源，厨余堆肥机等；还有一些作品紧跟“节能减排”领域的学术研究前沿。这些都展示了当代大学生对生活的认真观察和对于人类社会发展的高度关注。
The 1st National
University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving &
Emission Reduction was successfully held in Zhejiang University in 2008. There
were 505 works from 88 universities with many types, strong specialty, and wide
coverage, involving energy, machinery, resources, construction, electrical
engineering, marine, society, economy, mining and other fields. The 100
outstanding works in the final came from 55 universities, involving energy
production issues related to the major development of the national economy,
such as offshore wind power generation platforms, thermal utilization systems of
solar cascade development and biomass energy utilization systems; small
inventions and small productions for water saving and power saving in daily
life, such as energy saving helper in kitchen, new energy-saving switching
power supplies and food waste compost machine and some works closely following
the academic research frontier in the field of “energy saving & emission
reduction”. These all show the serious observation on life and the high
attention to the development of human society.

第二届全国大学生节能减排社会实践和科技竞赛于2009年在华中科技大学举行，共收到168所高等院校的报名申请，其中，985高校21所，211非985高校25所，一般本科100所，高职高专21所，军事院校1所，最后收到159所高校提交有效作品共1620项，经过形式审查和专家初审，评选出111项作品入围决赛。本届大赛参赛规模和竞赛影响远远超过第一届全国竞赛。
The 2nd National University Student
Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving & Emission Reduction
was held in Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2009. A total of
168 universities applied for registration, including 21 universities in 985
Project, 25 universities in 211 Project, not in 985 Project, 100 general
universities, 21 higher vocational colleges and 1 military institutes. In the
end, 1,620 valid works from 159 universities were received. After the formal
examination and preliminary review of experts, 111 works were selected for the
final. The scale of the contest and the impact of the contest far exceeded those
of the first national contest.

第三届全国大学生节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛于2010年在北京科技大学隆重举行，来自全国各省市232所高校的1868支参赛队参加了本次大赛，直接涉及全国赛的学生和指导老师总人数达15000人以上，师生总参与人数达30000余人。经过专家委员会对众多的参赛作品的认真评选，共推选出特等奖8项，一等奖32项，二等奖95项，三等奖294项。本届竞赛的竞赛委员会和专家委员会由院士、高校领导、长江学者、“973项目”首席科学家等130余人担任。同时，每一个代表队都配备至少一位相关领域专家进行密切指导，使参赛作品能够紧跟“节能减排”领域的学术研究前沿。通过作品的评审、展示，有效地促进了节能减排技术及相关领域的学术交流和学科交融。
The 3rd National
University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving &
Emission Reduction was held in University of Science and Technology Beijing in
2010. 1,868 teams from 232 universities across the country participated in the
contest, the overall number of students and instructors directly involving in
the national contest was over 15,000, and the total number of teachers and
students participating was more than 30,000. After the Committee of Experts
carefully selected the numerous works, 8 special awards, 32 first awards, 95 second
awards, and 294 third awards were selected. The Contest Committee and Expert Committee
of this contest were composed of more than 130 personnel, including academicians,
Changjiang Scholars, and “chief scientists” of “973 Project”. Meanwhile, each representative
team had at least one relevant field expert for close guidance, so that the
works could closely follow the academic research front in the field of “energy
saving & emission reduction”. Through the review and display of the works,
the academic exchanges and discipline intersections of energy-saving and
emission reduction technologies and related fields were effectively promoted.

第四届全国大学生节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛于2011年在哈尔滨工业大学举行，是该项赛事开展以来规模最大、覆盖面最广、参与人数最多的一次竞赛。本次竞赛共收到1980件参赛作品，参赛高校覆盖全国所有省、直辖市和港澳台地区。经过对作品资格审查和形式审查，最后有来自182所高校选送的1673 件作品进入网评，其中科技作品类1391件，社会实践类282件。网评过程中，共邀请了全国各高校相关专业的知名教授120人，每件作品都经过了3名专家的网上认真评审。经过网评，146所高校的484件作品进入专家会评，最终73所高校的133件作品进入决赛。作品内容覆盖各行业和日常生活的多个领域。
The 4th National
University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving &
Emission Reduction was held in Harbin Institute of Technology in 2011. It has
been the contest with the largest scale, the most extensive coverage and the
most participants since the beginning of this contest. There were 1,980 works,
and the participating universities were in all provinces, direct-controlled
municipalities and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in China. After the
qualification review and formal review of the works, 1,673 works selected from
182 universities were in the online review, including 1,391 scientific and
technological works and 282 social practice works. During the online review
process, a total of 120 well-known professors from various universities in China
were invited. Each work was carefully reviewed by three experts online. After
the online review, 484 works from 146 universities were in the expert review,
and finally 133 works from 73 universities entered the finals. The works contents
were about various fields of various industries and daily life.

第五届全国大学生节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛在西安交通大学举行，此届参赛作品充分体现和诠释了“节能减排、绿色能源”这一大赛的主题，积极推动了全社会节能减排活动的开展。第五届节能减排大赛从73所高校参与决赛评审的141项作品中，推选出了特等奖9项，一等奖37项，二等奖90项，此外还评出了三等奖345项，优秀组织奖59项。参赛作品充分体现了理论与实践的结合，大赛筹办与组织充分体现了高校与企业的结合。本届比赛规模大，作品质量好，专家层次高，确保了本届大赛的质量，扩大了大赛在国内的影响力，进一步促进了节能减排技术及相关领域的学术交流和学术交融。赛事呈现出“四样精彩”，即“万人参与，千余作品，百所高校，十分优秀”。大赛不论从规模、覆盖面还是参与人数、作品数量和整体质量等方面都堪称为“五届之最”。
The 5th National
University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving &
Emission Reduction was held in Xi’an Jiaotong University, and the works in this
session fully reflected and interpreted the theme of the “energy saving &
emission reduction and green energy”, and actively promoted the energy saving
& emission reduction activities in the whole society. It selected 9 special
awards, 37 first awards, 90 second awards, 345 third awards and 59 outstanding
organization awards from 141 works from 73 universities. The works fully
reflected the combination of theory and practice, and the preparation and
organization of the contest fully reflects the combination of universities and
enterprises. The scale of the contest is large, the quality of the works is
good, and the level of experts is high, so that the quality of this contest is
ensured, the influence of the contest in China is expanded and the academic
exchange and academic integration of energy-saving and emission reduction
technologies and related fields are further promoted. This contest presented “four
splendidness”, i.e. “more than 10,000 participants, more than 1,000 works, about
one hundred universities and very excellent”. This contest is called “the best
of the five sessions” in terms of size, coverage, number of participants,
number of works and overall quality.

第六届全国大学生（力诺瑞特杯）节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛在上海交通大学举行，据悉本次大赛共有205所高校参赛，覆盖全国所有省、直辖市和港澳台地区。收到有效作品2051件，经过网络初评和专家会评，共有72所高校的150件作品入围决赛，并有来自普渡大学、挪威科技大学等海外知名学府派代表团前来观摩参展。本届全国大学生节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛在收到作品数量、参赛人数、观摩人数、国际化程度等方面均创历届新高，有效提高了大学生科技创新能力和社会实践水平，完美诠释了“节能减排，全民行动”的低碳宣言。
“LINUO PARADIGMA”
the 6th National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on
Energy Saving & Emission Reduction was held in Shanghai Jiaotong University.
It is reported that the 205 participating universities were in all provinces, direct-controlled
municipalities and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in China. A total of 2,051 valid
works were received. After the initial online evaluation and expert review, a
total of 150 works from 72 universities were selected for the final, and
delegations from overseas universities such as Purdue University and Norwegian
University of Science and Technology came to take part in this exhibition. It had
achieved record highs in terms of the number of works received, the number of
participants, the number of people observing, and the degree of
internationalization. At has effectively improved the scientific and
technological innovation ability and social practice level of university
students, and perfectly interpreted the Low Carbon Declaration of “Energy
Conservation and Emission Reduction and People Activity”.

第七届全国大学生（金川杯）节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛在昆明理工大学举行，据悉本次大赛本届竞赛主题为“节能减排，绿色能源”，参赛作品须紧紧围绕该主题并体现新思维、新思想的实物制作（含模型）、软件、设计和社会实践调研报告，共有252所高校报名，收到有效作品2395件，均创历届新高。经过网络初评和专家会评，共有71所高校共160件作品参加了这次决赛。其中特等奖8项，一等奖54项，二等奖98项，三等奖430项。据悉，教育部高教司理工处吴爱华处长也参与闭幕式，第八届全国大学生节能减排科技竞赛将在哈尔滨工程大学举行。
The (Jinchuan) 7th
National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy
Saving & Emission Reduction (Jinchuan Cup) was held in Kunming University
of Science and Technology. It is reported that the theme of this contest was “energy
saving & emission reduction and green energy”, the works must be closely
related to the theme and reflect the practical manufacture of new thinking and
new ideas (including models), software, design and social practice research
reports. 252 universities registered, 2,395 valid works were received, and all
of them reached record highs. After the initial online evaluation of the
network and expert review, a total of 160 works from 71 universities
participated in the final. 8 special awards, 54 first awards, 98 second awards,
and 430 third awards were selected. It is reported that Director Wu Aihua of
the Science and Engineering Office of Department of Higher Education of the Ministry
of Education also participated in the closing ceremony. The 8th National
University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving &
Emission Reduction will be held in Harbin Engineering University.
昆明理工大学开幕式Opening Ceremony
in Kunming University of Science and Technology
第八届全国大学生节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛在哈尔滨工程大学举行。大赛共收到全国281所高校的2534件作品，经过网评、会评等层层筛选，最终来自全国68所高校的161件涉及能源、机械、资源、建筑、电气、海洋、社会、经济、矿业等多个领域的节能减排作品集中“亮相”。大赛将“角逐”出最具“节能减排、绿色能源”理念的科技或社会实践作品。中国工程院院士岑可法，教育部能源动力学科教学指导委员会专家、黑龙江教育厅和各高校校长等相关成员出席竞赛开幕式。值得关注的是，今年苏州高新创业投资集团也首次加盟到竞赛中。据悉，在教育部高教司和教育部能源动力教学指导委员会的讨论下，第九届全国大学生节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛将在江苏大学承办。
The 8th National University Student Social
Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving & Emission Reduction was held
in Harbin Engineering University. 2,534 works from 281 universities in China
were received. After screening through online reviews and evaluations, 161 works
about energy saving & emission reduction involving energy, machinery,
resource, construction, electrical engineering, marine, society, economy and
mining from 68 universities in China were displayed. The technological or
social practice works with the concept of “energy saving & emission
reduction and green energy” were selected. Academician of the Chinese Academy
of Engineering, Cen Kefa, the experts of the Teaching Guiding Committee of the Energy
Dynamics Subject of Ministry of Education, the related members of Education
Department of Heilongjiang Province and the head teachers of various
universities attended the opening ceremony of the contest. It is worth noting
that SUZHOU NEW DISTRICT HI-TECH INDUSTRIAL co., ltd also joined the contest
for the first time. It is reported that under the discussion of the Higher
Education Department of the Ministry of Education and the Teaching Guiding Committee
of the Energy Dynamics Subject of Ministry of Education, the 9th National

in Harbin Engineering University
第九届（荣威新能源杯）全国大学生节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛在江苏大学举行。据悉本次大赛本着以“节能减排，绿色能源”为主题，以增强大学生节能环保意识、科技创新意识和团队协作精神为目的，共有300所高校报名参加，收到有效作品2839件，均创历史新高。经过网络初评和专家会评，最终确定来自全国90所高校的180件作品进入决赛。其中特等奖10项、一等奖53项、二等奖116项、三等奖547项。本次大赛参赛作品内容涉及各行业和日常生活的多个领域，除创造了参赛高校、参赛作品历届最多之外，还得到行业企业的特别关注和积极参与，并首次设立了“荣威新能源”特别奖，为激励大学生创新创业发挥了重要作用。据悉，教育部高教司和教育部能源动力委员会领导也参加了本次大赛的闭幕式，第十届全国大学生节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛将在华北电力大学举行。
The 9th (Rongwei
New Energy) National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on
Energy Saving & Emission Reduction was held in Jiangsu University. It is
reported that this contest was based on the theme of “energy saving &
emission reduction and green energy” with the purpose of enhancing the energy
saving and environmental protection awareness, the scientific and technological
innovation awareness and the teamwork spirit of the university students. 300 universities
registered, 2,839 valid works were received, and all of them reached record
highs. After the initial online evaluation of the network and expert review, a
total of 180 works from 90 universities participated in the final. 10 special
awards, 53 first awards, 116 second awards, and 547 third awards were selected.
The work contents in this contest cover various fields of various industries
and daily life. There were the most universities and works in this contest, and
the industry and enterprise paid special attention and actively participated.
The special award of “Rongwei New Energy” was established for the first time,
which played an important role in stimulating the university students to
innovate and start up business. It is reported that the Higher Education
Department of the Ministry of Education and the Committee of Energy Dynamics of
Ministry of Education also participated in the closing ceremony of this contest.
The 10th National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on
Energy Saving & Emission Reduction will be held in North China Electric
Power University.
江苏大学开幕式Opening Ceremony
in Jiangsu University
“神雾杯”第十届全国大学生节能减排社会实践与科技竞赛在北京华北电力大学举行。本届竞赛共有343所高校报名参加，提交有效作品3196件，参赛学生人数超过16000人，参与高校和作品申报数量创历史新高。经过310名专家网络评议、50名专家现场评议，共有101所高校的189件作品进入全国决赛。8月9-11日，中国工程院岑可法院士、教育部高等教育司理工处吴爱华处长、北京市教委领导、北京市昌平区领导、教育部高等学校能源动力类专业教学指导委员会专家等出席竞赛开闭幕式。参加决赛的团队经过作品现场展示评审和分组答辩等环节的角逐，最终10件作品获大赛特等奖，63件作品获大赛一等奖，116件作品获大赛二等奖，86所高校获大赛优秀组织奖。本届竞赛组委会对十年来竞赛开展工作做了全面的回顾，充分展示了竞赛十年所取得的丰硕成果。本届竞赛获奖高校覆盖全国31个省市自治区，决赛共邀请20余家节能环保方面企业观摩作品展示，首次引入“启迪之星”作为赛事孵化合作方，为企业和参赛队伍搭建沟通合作的桥梁，为大学生的参赛作品提供了成果转化专业服务平台，决赛期间共有4家企业与10支参赛队伍达成合作意向并进行现场签约仪式，签约数量为历届竞赛最多。
The10th (Shenwu)
National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy
Saving & Emission Reduction was held in North China Electric Power
University in Beijing. A total of 343 universities participated in the contest,
and 3,196 valid works were submitted. The number of students participating in
the contest exceeded 16,000, and the number of participating universities and
works reached a record high. After the network reviews carried out by the 310
experts and the on-site reviews carried out by 50 experts, a total of 189 works
from 101 universities entered the national finals. On August 9-11, Academician
of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Cen Kefa, Director of the Science and Engineering
Office of Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Wu Aihua,
leaders from Changping District, Beijing, and the experts of Teaching Guiding Committee
of the Energy Dynamics Subject of Universities of Ministry of Education attended
the opening and closing ceremonies of the contest. After the spot demonstration
review of works and grouping reply, 10 special awards, 63 first awards, and 116
second awards were selected, and 86 universities won the excellent organization
awards. The Organization Committee of this contest made a comprehensive review
of the work carried out in the contest in the past ten years, and fully
demonstrated the fruitful achievements of the contest in the past ten years.
The universities winning the awards in this contest were from 31 provinces,
municipalities and autonomous regions In China. In the final, more than 20 energy
saving and environmental protection enterprises were invited to observe the
works. For the first time, “TusStar” was introduced as the event incubation
partner to build a bridge for communication between enterprises and
participating teams and provide a professional service platform for the achievement
transformation of the works of university students. During the final, a total
of 4 enterprises and 10 participating teams reached a cooperation intention and
carried out an on-site signing ceremony. The number of contracts was the
highest in previous contests.
